Google Business Profile linking

In this article, you will get acquainted with the following information:


To link to Google, you need to select the status Action Required.

 

 

Click on Action required in the Status column of the selected company's row. The Google Business Profile Linking page will open.

 

 


 

Step 1: How to add an account for linking the company?

 

First, click on Link.

 

 

In the opened window, select the desired account and click on Confirm. If the account has not been linked yet, then click on Link.

 

 

Next, you need to choose where to synchronize the companies and click Next.

The options for selection may include the following:

  • Personal account.
  • Verified group of addresses. It is displayed in green. By selecting this group, the company will be automatically synchronized. You can learn more about this here.
  • Unverified group of addresses. It is displayed in gray color.

 

 

The list of groups and accounts can be filtered. To do this, click on All groups/accounts and select the desired option from the drop-down list.

 

 


 

Step 2: How to select companies for linking?

 

On the Companies to link to the catalog page, you need to select the locations from the list. You can filter companies by brands and find the one you need using the search field by branch code, address, or phone number.

Attention! If you accessed the page through a company in the Sources section, that location will already be selected automatically on the page.

 

 

  • If a personal account was selected, it will only be possible to select up to 10 companies. If more locations need to be specified, create an address group. You can learn more about how to do this here.
  • If a group was selected, the Choose all companies button will be available.
 

 

After selecting the necessary companies, click on Start linking.

Attention! When you click, an error may appear: All companies are already being processed. This means that someone from the staff has already started linking location data.

 

 

In the appearing window, you should click on Start linking.

Attention! The linking and synchronization process with Google Business Profile may take up to 30 minutes.

 

 


 

Step 3: How to link and synchronize companies?

 

When moving to the next step, it is necessary to wait for the automatic processing of the companies. After processing is complete, some companies may require manual linking to their respective locations. Such entries will be displayed with the status Action Required. Click on Select.

 

 

The window Select Location for linking will open.

In the left part of the window, the company added to the BrandWizard personal account will be displayed. On the right, the locations found in the catalog will be displayed. Companies can be filtered by address.

 

 

In the list on the right, the following may be displayed:

Only locations added in the Google Business Profile account, indicating that suitable locations for linking were found in your account.
Only locations on Google Maps, which means that suitable locations for linking were found exclusively on the maps.

 

Linking locations with the status "Not confirmed" and "No owner"

 

  • If a company with the status Not confirmed is found in the list of locations, it means that the company has been added to your account in the catalog but has not yet been confirmed.
  • If a company with the status No owner is found, it means that the company is located on the maps and does not have an owner.

To bind such locations, select them from the list and click on Select.

 

 

After selecting a location, the company's status on the page will change to Awaiting confirmation. It will be possible to verify ownership of the location in the catalog after the linking process.

Attention! In some cases, when changing the name or address of a company, it is necessary to re-verify in Google Business Profile.

 

 

Linking locations with the status "Has owner" 

 

The Has owner status means that the location already has an owner on the maps. In this case, to link a company, you need to request the rights to manage it in Google Business Profile. To do this, select it from the list and click Next.

 

 

A window will open where you can go to the appropriate page in your Google Business Profile to request location management rights. To do this:

  1. Click on Request rights in Google Business Profile. 
    Attention! You need to make sure you're signed in with the same Google work account that you synced with.
  2. After requesting for permissions, click on Finish

Waiting time for a response is 3-7 days. If the owner does not respond within the specified period, then you will have the opportunity to confirm the location in your Google Business Profile. You can read more about obtaining rights in our instructions here

Attention! At this stage, you can not request rights, but do it later in the fourth stage. You just need to click on Finish.

 

 

The company on the page will change to the status Waiting for management rights.

 

 

What to do if none of the found locations in the list are suitable?

 

If none of the companies in the list are suitable, select Create new and click Select.

 

 

The company on the page will change to the status Ready to send. Ownership of the location in the catalog can be confirmed after the linking process.

 

 

What to do if a location doesn't need to be synchronized yet?

 

If you don't need to link a location yet, click on Do not link.

 

 

The company on the page will be in the Not Linked status. If you need to change your selection, click on the edit icon.

 

 


 

After linking all companies, you need to click on Finish

Attention! The Finish button will only be available if the page does not display any locations with the Action required status.

 

 


 

Step 4: How to confirm companies?

 

At this stage, you can view the information regarding linking and confirmation. Initially, the number of linked locations, the number and percentage of confirmed locations, and the number and percentage of unconfirmed locations are displayed.

In the Confirmed locations block, the following may be shown:

  • Synchronized - the number of companies that have been found in the source and successfully linked to the BrandWizard account.
  • Sent - the number of companies that have been created and added to the source. Confirmation can be completed later.

Attention!

  • Any of the statuses listed above may not be displayed if there were no companies linked, or if data for them was sent to the source for linking.
  • If none of the points have been completed, the block will not be displayed at all.

In the Unconfirmed locations block, the following may be shown:

  • Application for mass confirmation: Created. In this case, you do not need to request a confirmation code, as work on the application is already in progress. You will be contacted if necessary. You can find out how to bulk confirm companies here.
  • Manual confirmation by code. To confirm that you are the owner of the location, you need to request and enter the code obtained from the source service.
  • Management rights required. You need to obtain management rights for the location from the current owner in the catalog.

Attention!

  • Any of the statuses listed above may not be displayed if there were no companies needing a confirmation code, or management rights, or an application for confirmation was sent.
  • If there were no such companies, the Unconfirmed locations block will not be displayed at all.

 

 

How to manually verify companies using a code?

 

To confirm a company, click on Manual confirmation with code in the Unconfirmed locations block.

 

 

If you navigated to the confirmation section during the linking and synchronization process but then left the page, you can return to it by clicking on Confirm in the Sources section.

 

 

The Unverified companies page will open, which will show a list of companies waiting for confirmation.

To also display companies that are waiting for management rights or for which a code has already been requested, you need to click on the Status field and select the desired option from the drop-down list.

 

 

Next, you should click on Request Code. A window will open where you can choose the method of confirming the company:

  • By phone.
    • In this case, the phone number will be displayed, and the robot will call within 10 minutes. If the robot cannot reach you, a Google employee will call within a few days.
  • By SMS.
    • In this case, a phone number will be displayed, and within 10 minutes an SMS with a code will be sent to it.
  • By email.
    • A field will appear where you need to enter the email address to which an email with a code will be sent within 10 minutes. The field is required to be filled.
  • By letter.
    • If this option is selected, the address to which a physical letter with the code will be sent will be displayed.
    • In addition, a field will appear where the contact person's full name must be entered. The field is mandatory.
    • The letter will be delivered within 14 days.

Attention! Not all methods may be available for confirmation, they are determined for the location by the Google itself.

After selecting, click on Send.

Then, a field will appear where you need to enter the received code and click on Confirm. If multiple codes have been received, you should enter the last code received for that specific location.

 

 

If the method of receiving the code was through physical mail and the code has not been received yet, or if the code was not sent, you can close this window and follow the steps described below. When you receive the code, click on Enter Code. Then, enter it in the field and click on Confirm.

If the code has not been received, click on Request code again.

 

 

A window for re-requesting the code will open, where you will need to repeat the same steps as the first time.

Attention! Before requesting the code again, make sure that the waiting period for the previous request has expired.

 

 

How to request rights to a company?

 

If the rights to the company from the current owner were not requested during processing stage, then you should click on Management rights required.

 

 

You can also click Confirm in any line of a Google catalog company in the Sources section.

 

 

The Unverified companies page will open, displaying a list of companies that are pending management rights. 

To also display companies that are waiting for confirmation or for which a code has already been requested, you need to click on the Status field and select the desired option from the drop-down list.

 

 

To request rights:

  1. Next, click on Request rights.
  2. A window will open where you can go to the appropriate page in your Google Business Profile to request location management rights. Attention! You need to make sure you're logged into the same work Google account that you synced from.
  3. After requesting for permissions, click on Finish.

How to find out the status of an application for mass confirmation?

 

For companies applying for mass confirmation, a code is not required. You will be contacted if necessary. To view the status of such an application, click on the corresponding field in the linking results section. You can find out how to confirm companies in bulk here.

 

 

You can also click on Unverified companies in the Google catalog company line in the Sources section.

 

 

The Unverified companies page will open, where the Confirmation requests tab will show a list of applications submitted. Each application indicates the type of confirmation, the number of companies, the date of application, and the status. Applications may be in the following statuses:

  • Created.
  • In process.
  • Waiting. This status is set when additional information about your location is required. We will contact you.
  • Processed.

To view all companies in an application, click on the record itself. A list of companies will open, in which you can see the synchronization status of each location:

  • Synchronized.
  • Sent. Data has been received but is still being processed by the platform
  • Awaiting confirmation. The application has been formed and is awaiting catalog confirmation.

By default, only unprocessed applications are displayed. To display processed ones, check the box in the corresponding field.

 

 

For applications with Processed and Waiting statuses, the date of transition to this status will be indicated.
