Why is the average rating of reviews in the personal account different from the rating in the catalog?

The average rating of reviews is the arithmetic mean of all the reviews received in the BrandWizard personal account.

This rating may differ from the rating of a particular location on the map for several reasons:

• Filters were selected on the Reviews page in the personal account. More details about them can be found here.
• In the Yandex catalog, the rating may not be displayed for some companies at all. The reasons for this can be found here.
• Brand reviews are not included in the company's rating on the maps.

Attention! When a new company is added to Yandex Business, it does not yet have a rating. To appear on the maps, it is necessary to receive at least five ratings. However, in the BrandWizard personal account, the rating will be displayed even if the company has only one review.

• Differences in rating calculation methods on catalogs.

Yandex and Google weigh ratings based on data about the users who left these reviews. As a result, each user's rating has its own specific weight, which affects the final location rating. Yandex also includes ratings that are not published, but ultimately have a small weight in influencing the final rating.

The features and algorithms of the artificial intelligence used by the catalogs are not disclosed. Therefore, the rating in the personal account and the actual rating on the maps may differ due to different calculation methods.
