# How to add a story to Yandex card in the Overview section?

In the **Overview** section, you can add history to the Yandex directory.  Make sure that this source is verified. You can find out how to do this [here](https://help.brandwizard.io/knowledge/how-to-set-up-a-company-binding-to-yandex?hsLang=en).

**Attention!** If you have multiple brands, you need to create the same story multiple times, selecting each brand separately. This is how the functionality works due to business logic and Yandex's limitations.

There are rules for publishing stories. The text and key phrases in the story should be meaningful and informative, and links should lead to the company's website or social media page. In the story, you cannot use:

- Slang, rude, and colloquial expressions.
- Profanity.
- Insults, threats, aggressive calls, instigations to cruelty or violence.
- Materials that create a negative attitude towards norms of behavior, goods, services, or other companies.
- Shocking and repulsive content.
- Pornographic materials.
- Political calls and propaganda.
- Inaccurate information and knowingly false statements.
- Words or phrases of tragic themes.
- Personal data.
- Yandex brand.
- Advertising of certain topics: 
    - Products and services related to causing harm to humans or property.
    - Goods and services prohibited by law.
    - Weapons and related goods.
    - Without a clear definition of the advertising object: a product or service.
    - Programs and services for boosting ratings on social networks, spam mailing, anonymizers, and ad-blocking programs.
    - Providing transportation as advertising structures, as well as services for converting vehicles into such structures.
    - Job offers where the nature of the activity is unclear.
    - Cryptocurrency and actions related to it.
    - Distance selling of jewelry.
    - Alcoholic beverages.
    - Dietary supplements presented as medicines.
    - Tobacco products, smoking accessories, and related accessories.

File requirements for the story:

- File format: JPG or PNG.
- Image resolution: from 100 × 68 to 5000 × 5000 pixels.
- Maximum file size: 10 MB.
- Recommended aspect ratio: 9:16.
- Number of photos in each story: up to 10.
- Maximum number of stories for upload: unlimited.
- Maximum number of stories for display: the last 10 uploaded.

When hovering the mouse cursor over a story, the publication statuses will be displayed:

- **In progress** – the initial status, shown after creating the story until it is submitted to the catalog for moderation.
- **On moderation** – the story has been submitted and is under moderation in the catalog.
- **Story published** – the story has been published in the company's card on the catalog.
- **Deleted** – this status is shown only in the **Sources** section. It is set after the story is deleted.

### **How to create a story?**

 

To create a story, click on the corresponding field on the page.

In the window that opens, select the desired brand from the **All brands** filter. If you have only one brand, you can skip this step.

*Why this matters:* history is created separately for each brand – this is required by Yandex.

Select the companies for which you want to add history, then click **Finish**.

⚠️ **Important:** Closed and temporarily closed companies do not appear in the list – history cannot be added for them.

**Checking Yandex verification**

History will be added **only** for companies that are already verified in the Yandex catalog.  
If a company is not verified (its catalog icon appears gray in the location list), the history will not be added:

- You can enable auto‑addition (described below) so that history is added automatically for new companies.

If you want history to be added automatically when a new company appears in this brand, turn on the **Auto‑add the story to new companies** option.

 

**Important:** This option works only if **all** companies of the brand are selected. To select all, check the box next to the **Name and code of branch** column header.

To find a specific company, you can use the search field by name or address, as well as filters by **brands** and **groups**. You can also view already selected companies to see which locations are still missing – click **Show selected**.

In the next window, click or drag files into the upload area.

**File requirements:**

- File format: JPG or PNG.
- Image resolution: from 100 × 68 to 5000 × 5000 px.
- Maximum file size: 10 MB.
- Recommended aspect ratio: 9:16.
- Number of photos per story: up to 10.
- Maximum number of stories to upload: unlimited.
- Maximum number of stories displayed: the 10 most recently uploaded.

After uploading the images, enter a name for the story.

By default, the cover will be selected automatically from the uploaded slides, but you can upload a different one – click the corresponding button and choose the file you want.

If you want to choose a cover from another slide, click on that slide, then select **Set as cover**.

To reorder slides, click and hold the desired slide with the left mouse button, then drag it left or right.

You can set a time period during which the story will be available. To do this, enable the corresponding option, then select the start date and time for publication, as well as the removal date and time. Confirm by clicking **OK**.

To add a button to the story, enable the corresponding option.

- If you want the same button to appear on all slides, check the box.
- Enter the button text.
- Specify the link that users will go to when they click the button.

After completing all the settings, click **Publish**.

The story will be published after moderation in the catalog (typically 2–4 hours).

### **How to add/remove companies for story publication?**

 

You cannot change the links, buttons, and images of the story. However, you can change the companies for publication. To do this, click on the story.

A window will open where you can delete the story, view its status, and see which companies it has been published for. To add/remove companies, click on **Edit**.

In the opened window, select the desired companies from the list (or uncheck them) and click **Finish**. Closed companies will not be included in the list, and the story cannot be sent to them.
